Why is archery popular today in the U.S?

Today archery is becoming popular in the U.S because of The Hunger Games. There are other several reasons for this occurrence. First, archery is popular among children especially girls who saw the movie, because The Hunger Games is the female heroine Katniss.  Girls liked Katniss’s young strong character, independence, cuteness and she survived. Second, the London Olympics is coming soon.  Next, archery is not such a difficult sport. People who are archers don’t have to practice everyday in the early morning and don’t have to do many exercises. Finally, archery is an independent sport. Therefore, people ought not to practice with team and team works.  For these reasons, archery is becoming popular in the U.S.

My opinion of the THG movie and book

The movie and book The Hunger Games both were good but in the movie everything was rushed. Everybody says book was better than movie. I agree with this because there are more details and story was longer in the book.  Katniss and Peeta are very smart therefore they won the Games. I think Peeta couldn’t win without Katniss. On the other hand, Katniss helped him to survive. I don’t like Cato’s character since he is so cruel, but he is such a handsome guy. I didn’t like how Cato was twisted one boy’s neck. I was so happy to see Cato was eaten by the mutations. I liked Effie Trinket’s costumes and people of the Capitol’s fashion. I like the part of Katniss when she says “Thank you” to Capitol people when she was training. And when Katniss ran away from the fires it was very exciting. These were really cool part. I liked The Hunger Games and I’ll read books 2 and 3 and want to watch more movies.

Spring Break

My spring break was not too good. I didn’t go anywhere because of the crazy weather outside. I usually spent my time on PC for chat with my friends in Mongolia and my family. Sometimes I went to shopping at Salem center and I bought sneakers that I really wanted on sale and some T-shirts. I was so lucky. I often went to the Safeway to get some foods and cookies. The dorm was silent because most American students went to their hometown.

March 26th was my 20th birthday. I celebrated with my friends but most friends went to trip and I spent time with a few friends. My birthday was so funny and I had a great time.

I went to the Social soup on March 30th Friday. I met many foreign people for example: Indian, Iran, and American. We ate dinner together, talked lot of things and played games. It was fun I really enjoyed the Social Soup. We meet on Friday every week. We’ll celebrate Good Friday, which is Jesus’s death day on this Friday. The leader of Social Soup Jim will talk about the Christian story to us. There are many ASP students who joined this Social Soup.

My roommate came back on Saturday from Japan. She was the JSP student last year but she came back early because of the earthquake in Japan. I was so excited when I saw my roommate. My roommate and some other friends celebrated my birthday on Sunday. I ate birthday cake and we watched a movie in the lounge. I celebrated my birthday twice. I was surprised I didn’t guess that they would celebrate my birthday again. In addition, they gave me a present a speaker for the iPhone that I really wanted. I was so happy and I was so thankful to them.

Spring break was so short but I had fun times. It was rainy and windy every day. I really got tired of rain. If it had a good weather, I would have gone out every day. Although I had a great time during the Spring break and I enjoyed it.

Pow Wow

Many people and students came to see the POW WOW and I saw for the first time live Native Americans dancing and singing. When I entered the arena, I smelt smoke that I’ve heard was burning grass and it was kind of Mongolian “Arts” and Japanese “Senko”. I was so excited when I saw the costumes. The costumes were very beautiful, colorful and gallant. They danced many kinds of dance and the dancers were people of all ages. In addition, other people played Host Drum and sang. I didn’t understand what they’re singing but their voice was loud, I think their throat going to sick next day. But, I learned that dancing and singing are a very important part of the life of the American Indian. American Indian people were very kind and I took photos with them. There were a handmade products and many interesting things, and cute accessories and jewelries. The POW WOW was interesting and I liked it. I think this was the best chance to watch American Indian culture live and I was so thankful and happy.
